125-hour Prenatal, Postnatal & Womb-Centered Yoga Teacher Training 2027

Overview

This in-depth 125-hour Prenatal, Postnatal & Woman-Centered Yoga Teacher Training (taught in English) invites you into a deep exploration of the herstory of yoga, woman-centered practice, and the art of facilitating women's circles for rites of passage. You will learn how to guide safe, nourishing women’s circles as well as prenatal and postnatal yoga classes with confidence and care.

Together, we will explore pregnancy and childbirth physiology, postnatal hormones, the nervous system, prenatal and perinatal psychology, womb yoga, womb awareness, womb stories, goddess work, sound healing, tantra, and pleasure. We will also explore how to hold space for both processed and unprocessed birth stories, how to facilitate sharing circles, and how to teach yoga with babies.

This training offers a deeply feminine approach to yoga, one that can be woven into any style of practice, while equipping you to support pregnant women and new mothers through one of the most profound transitions of their lives: from maiden to mother, or from mother of one to mother of more. You will develop the tools to hold space for women during an extraordinarily vulnerable and open time, as they navigate the immense physical and emotional changes that come with birth and early motherhood.

All of this is brought together through sequencing, space-holding, and class design, blending theory lectures, circle sharing, and hands-on practical learning. Each weekend you will receive inspiring example classes for both prenatal and postnatal yoga — and from the very first weekend, you will be teaching and sharing your knowledge with one another.

Who would benefit from this training?

This training is open to anyone with an understanding of yoga, including asana, meditation, and pranayama, as this foundation is essential for getting the most out of the training, both in your teaching and your personal practice. Why should I take this training?

Teaching prenatal and postnatal yoga is a beautiful way to support women through one of the most intense and transformative times of their lives. This rite of passage is a death of who they were and a rebirth of who they are becoming as mothers. By holding this space, we can support women in their bodily autonomy, helping them feel prepared for birth, the postpartum period, and the lifelong journey of motherhood.

There is still a deep need for the healing of sisterhood wounds, and pregnancy, birth, and early motherhood are a clear reflection of how women have been, and continue to be treated, both today and throughout history. As prenatal and postnatal yoga teachers, we are here to lift women up and support them in trusting what they already know. In every cell of our bodies, we carry the innate wisdom to grow a child, birth it, and mother it. We often simply need community and support around us to trust and surrender to that instinctual knowing. When we begin to heal these wounds and share the possibility of ecstatic birth, autonomous birth, and birth as a portal with the potential for a huge and empowering transformation, both mothers and babies are welcomed more gently into this world.

In the postnatal space, this work continues. New mothers are navigating an enormous physical and emotional shift, often while sleep-deprived, tender, and deeply open. As postnatal yoga teachers and space-holders, we support them in reconnecting with their bodies, processing their birth stories, and stepping into the fullness of who they are becoming.

Throughout this training, we will meet in circles, sharing our own stories, belief systems, and conditionings. We’ll be exploring what we each bring with us into the spaces we hold.

Ida Kilias

This training is led by Ida Kilias, a yoga teacher and birth keeper with over 1,000 hours of training in yoga and yoga therapy. She has studied with inspiring teachers dedicated to protecting birth and continues to deepen her knowledge in the fields of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care. She has been training prenatal yoga teachers since 2020 (this year will be the 7th group), has authored research articles on emotional pregnancy, and is currently teaching women’s yoga, prenatal yoga, and postnatal yoga in Copenhagen.

Deeply passionate about women’s health, birth, and motherhood, Ida envisions a more woman- and human-centered approach to our current birthing culture. Gathering in circles of women and doing this work is her act of activism, which is supporting a better, more supported rite of passage and culture around becoming a mother.

“Ida’s prenatal yoga course was such a treat for me both personally and professionally. It softened me, challenged me and opened my eyes to new ways of thinking about women and the birth of a mother. It armed me with the knowledge and confidence I felt I needed to guide women through such a transformative phase of life through the practice of yoga, as well as offering perspectives I’ll carry with me forever.”

- Pia

- Louise

“It is to put it all into words. It was special & moved me, deeply. So much knowledge and wisdom about womanhood, wombs, childbirth, and ceremonies. A beautiful journey with other women to dive deep into our inherent wisdom that lies within all of us.

In many circles, we sat and shared.
We sang, we connected, we laughed, we cried, we danced, we rested.
We shared from our hearts.
We listened.
We opened up.
We released.
We grew.
We are growing.

Many seeds are planted.
The soil nourished by supporting, loving sisters.
🤍
It was a bitter-SWEET ending - gratitude and excitement for what is and what is coming - sadness for it ending - yet knowing this ending is another beginning. A continuous cycle of life and creation. More than ever, I dream of monthly gatherings in an intimate circle of women where we can support each other, share with an open heart, exchange knowledge and wisdom, and be present with each other in the sorrow and joy.
It leaves me with hope for the future 🤍

TAK FOR DIG Ida Kilias for creating and sharing with us. You are an inspiration and wonderful human being. And a big TAK FOR DIG to the other gorgeous women that shared this journey with me. So much love for all of you xxx”
